About Us

We began from our own pockets.

Before a single rupee was raised.

About Us

THE FOUNDING STORY

ALONA Foundation started with one question that could not be ignored: India has an estimated 4,991 Menstruating physically disabled girls in Nanded district alone. Most have no access to sanitary products. Most have never been counted.

What would it take to reach them?

ALONA’s founders answered that question from their own pockets — before a single external rupee was raised. They reached 105 physically disabled girls across selected schools in Nanded and gave each one an annual sanitary pad kit. Every girl was verified with three layers of proof: her photograph, her disability ID card, and written consent from her school principal. The entire pilot was documented on video.

That pilot — 105 girls, self-funded, three-layer verified — is ALONA’s founding proof. It is the evidence we bring to every conversation with donors, government
officials, and CSR partners. We do not make promises. We show what we have already done

"The verified photo is not a feature. It is ALONA's DNA. Every action documented. Every rupee accountable. Every impact pr oven."

WHAT ALONA DOES — RIGHT NOW

ALONA Foundation runs two programs today:

Civic Reporting and Field Response

Citizens report broken toilets, waste, stray dogs, and water leakage through our app or QR codes placed across Nanded. Trained field workers are dispatched. Before-and-after photographs are taken. Every resolved issue is logged and published.

Annual Sanitary Pads for Physically Disabled Girls

We distribute a verified annual supply of sanitary pads to physically disabled girls across 75 schools in Nanded district — delivered by Gram Pratinidhis, confirmed with photo, disability card, and principal consent. ₹1,000 sponsors one girl for one year.

Why Choos Us

WHO WE ARE

ALONA Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit company, registered under the Companies Act, 2013, and based in Nanded, Maharashtra. ALONA builds and operates its own platform, its own field network, and its own verification systems — the technology, the Gram Pratinidhi network, and the field worker teams are all ALONA’s, run in-house by ALONA’s own team.

THE MONEY FLOW

HOW YOUR DONATION WORKS

Your donation goes directly to ALONA Foundation. Funds are used for direct program costs — sanitary pad procurement, last-mile delivery, Gram Pratinidhi salaries, field worker dispatch, and the technology that verifies and documents every action.

There is no unverified claim. Every rupee has a photograph at the end of its journey.

"The verified photo is not a feature. It is ALONA's DNA. Every action documented. Every rupee accountable. Every impact pr oven."

THE NAME

WHY ALONA

ALONA is named in honour of Helen Keller — who was deaf, blind, and physically disabled, and became one of the most articulate voices for human dignity in history. Her teacher Annie Sullivan found her when no one else believed she could be reached.

ALONA exists to be that teacher. For every girl in Nanded who has not yet been found.

THREE THINGS WE BELIEVE

Verified, not estimated

We do not claim impact we cannot prove. Every girl photographed. Every issue resolved with before/after evidence.

Employment, not volunteering.

Gram Pratinidhis are paid a monthly salary. Field workers are employed. Dignity starts with a salary — not a gesture.

Systems, not charity.

We build infrastructure that works without us needing to chase it. Daily collection routes, QR-coded logistics, AI verification — the system runs itself.
